From Mexico to France

When I first considered to have an experience as a foreign student, I would never imagined how it could look like.In life and in general, I prefer not to have any expectations. The only thing that was for sure was that when people come back to their country after having an experience overseas they are not the same anymore.

A Brazilian young woman’s exchange program in Lille

Dear readers, my name is Helena and I’m originally from Brazil. I’m a Psychology student at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais and at the moment I’m in an exchange program at the Université de Lille for the fall/winter semester of 2022. I’ve always dreamed of studying abroad and since I’m in my last year of my undergraduate studies I had to grab this chance.

If your school is in Lille, do not worry: the subway serves the city. Reaching Lille's city center will not take you more than 30 minutes. • La Madeleine and Marcq-en-Baroeul: these 2 cities are located north-east of Lille, and offer a wide range of accommodation. Both are well served by public transportation.

The best areas to live in as a student
