VISA (OFII« French National Agency in charge of Immigration and Integration »  )

Even if you have a long-stay visa it has to be validate by Office Français de l’Immigration et de l’Intégration (OFII) !

In order to achieve this, it is necessary to follow the process below !


Who do I contact ?

First of all, you need to know that you will deal with the french national agency in charge of immigration and integration « Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration » (OFII). In France, from september 1st 2009, OFII’s mission is to validate the long-stay visa for foreigners (French foreigners spouses, students, visitors or employees).

Fill the form

Second, when you will arrive in France, as soon as possible, you need to download and fill the form « Demande d’attestation OFII ». You will provide details on your :

  • Arrival date in France,
  • Home address in France,
  • Visa number ;

Also include a passport copy (all details regarding informations about your identity), a visa copy, and the stamp (visa) attesting of your entry into France or Schengen area.


Send your application package

Third, when the second step is done, you will send all of your documents to the « Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration » (OFII).

Two differents ways !

Either, you send your documents by « La Poste » (a french postal services operator). In this case, find the closest OFII agency adress. Don’t forget to buy stamps and to send your documents in return receipt.

Or, if you are student, in your university/school you may have a specific reception device that permit a bundled deposit. In this case, you have to collect informations on your own (call your secretariat by phone).


OFII’s return

Fourth, as from reception of your documents, OFII will save all of your documents and will send you back an acknowledgment receipt of your documents and will summon you in order to validate your visa. In addition of your convocation, you will receive a letter-stamp that inform you need to pay a fee of 60€ in a dematerialized way on

Fifth, the day of your convocation don’t forget to bring with you :

  • Your passport with the visa
  • A proof of address
  • A picture id
  • A medical certificate
  • The proof of the tax amount paid to OFII
